Tractel offers a comprehensive range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to give you the support and assurance needed to guard against the risk from falls when working at height. With over 70 years of industry experience, Tractel has built a culture of safety through its ingenuity in manufacturing high quality, innovative products.
Work restraint equipment has been designed, manufactured and tested to restrain from a fall hazard. It is not intended to arrest a fall.
This type of equipment has been designed, manufactured and tested to enable workers to position themselves properly for working safely at heights. This equipment is incorporated or used in conjunction with a fall arrest system.
Fall arrest or height safety equipment is designed to arrest a fall safely, limiting the risk of injury by dissipating the energy produced and holding the person in a suitable position.
Is every team member safe?
The average weight of male employees has increased significantly over the last 20 years. This means that a growing number of employees are working outside the certified 100kg limit of their fall arrest equipment.
To meet the demand for PPE fall arrest equipment for weights of more than 100kg, Tractel is the first to offer a complete range of 150kg fall arrest equipment which complies with European regulations. The products in this range have been tested to arrest falls of weights up to 150kg (person's weight and equipment) with an impact force of less than 600 daN.
To protect users up to the maximum weight of 150kg, all system components (anchor point - lanyard/fall arrester - harness) are marked as "HIGH CAPACITY RANGE 150kg".
Tractel supplies a complete "HIGH CAPACITY RANGE 150kg" of PPE, including anchor points and fall arrest/harness solutions which have been tested in accordance with the European CNB/P/11.062 (for weights of more than 100kg) and CNB/P/11.060 (for horizontal use) standards.
Unlimited life span of PPE
Since 2017, Tractel no longer indicates lifespan on fall arrest equipment. The personal protective equipment (PPE) can be used without restrictions from the manufacturing date provided that:
- it is used is in accordance with instruction manuals;
- the instruction manual procedures for storage and transport are met;
- a periodic inspection is carried out at least every year by a competent person who will authorize in writing that the PPE is fit to be returned to service; and
- a full written history is available for the product you intend to use.
Anchor points and dockings
An anchorage point is a point to which the fall arrest system can be reliably attached in order to guarantee the safety of the operator.
Temporary or permanent, they are designed to stop the fall of one or more users.
